MARGAO: Ajay Malli (40), arrested by the Canacona Police for allegedly committing murder of his wife Savita Malli (30) in Bihar was produced before the local court and five days transit remand has been taken.
The Canacona Police made an application before the local court praying to grant five days transit remand which was granted. When contacted, Canacona PI Canacona Pravin Gaus confirmed that five days remand has been taken and accused will be brought to Goa after conducting legal formalities. The police said that the body of savita was handed over to family members after conducting a postmortem examination. She was strangled to death by her husband in Canacona near one primary school. The accused suspected his wife was having an extra marital relationship.
He was absconding since April 19. However, the Canacona Police team, upon obtaining a clue, was sent to Bihar and the alleged accused was arrested. Further investigation is in progress.
