MARGAO: There was a huge fire on top of the Mandopa hill in Navelim where the dry grass had caught fire.
Both the Forest Department and the Margao Fire brigade had rushed to the site, to douse the fire although they faced some difficulty in accessing the area.
Elsewhere there was another major fire in Curtorim where a jeep belonging to a resident and a car belonging to his relative, were gutted in the fire. According to the Fire officials, the total loss of property is around Rs 13 lakh.
The fire brigade also attended to dry grass fire calls at Colva, Betalbatim, Pajifond, Rawanfond, Telaulim and they also had to douse fire to banyan trees in Navelim and Seraulim villages.
