Huge Mango Tree Falls on Road Damages Car and House Compound at Siolim

Mapusa’s fire team rushed to Bamon Waddo, Siolim, where a huge mango tree fell onto the road, damaging a parked car bearing an MH registration and a compound of a house. The fire team initiated cutting work to clear the obstruction. The incident took place at 1:30 am on Thursday. Thankfully no injuries were reported in the incident.

Expressing concern, a local highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that the tree, aged and identified as a potential risk two years prior, posed a threat. The monetary loss, estimated at around 30 thousand, was of lesser concern compared to the potential harm it could cause.

“We have incurred a loss of nearly 30 thousand, we told the owners to cut the tree since it was old 2 years ago. We don’t care about the monetary loss, what if something had to happen to someone? The road is frequented by school children and other vehicles,” said a local.

The road sees regular traffic, including school children and various vehicles, raising worries about potential accidents or injuries if such incidents are not addressed promptly.
