Humid weather likely to continue

The searing temperatures and stuffy humid weather is likely to continue over the next couple of days with the meteorological department reiterating that the monsoon will not strike the state before June 7.

PANJIM: The searing temperatures and stuffy humid weather is likely to continue over the next couple of days with the meteorological department reiterating that the monsoon will not strike the state before June 7. 

Maximum temperatures on Monday touched 35.7 degrees Celsius three degrees above normal and believed to be the highest this season with the temperatures hovering between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius since March. 

The monsoon too is likely to arrive only on June 7, with the IMD forecasting that the monsoon will strike the Kerala coast on June 3 and strike Goa only four days later. 

Night temperatures too have been above normal at 27.5 degrees Celsius making nights warm. 

Isolated pre monsoon showers are expected over the next couple of days.
