MARGAO: Margao police arrested one Sagar Timbadiya, a resident of Rawanfond in connection with the alleged murder of his 29-year-old wife Ankita Timbadiya.
According to police, Ankita, who died under mysterious circumstances in a flat, is the second wife of the said accused person.
Based on the complaint, police have registered an offence under Section 302 of the IPC against Sagar. A murder case has also been registered.
Police said the post-mortem conducted by doctors at the South Goa District Hospital, Margao revealed some bruises, bites and other injuries on Ankita’s body, raising suspicion that she was murdered. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Margao recently conducted the inquest and other formalities into Ankita’s death as she died within seven years of marriage.
Police said the South Goa District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Margao were intimated with regards to Ankita’s death.
Police said earlier they received a phone call from South Goa District Hospital Margao informing that Ankita was brought dead in the casualty from her Rawanfond residence. They said on enquiring with Ankita’s husband it was revealed that she was physically weak after delivery of a baby boy.
Police said her husband went to the bathroom where she was found unconscious. Later, she was shifted to SGDH. However, the doctor on duty declared her dead.
