Hut gutted in Pernem

Property worth Rs 30,000 was gutted in a fire, after a hut was gutted at Moryawado-Talorna in Pernem taluka on Wednesday morning.
Sources informed that the hut belonged to one Satyawati Krishna Pandi (65).
At the time of incident, Satyawati was alone in the house.
Clothes, utensils, coconuts and cash of Rs 10,000 were destroyed in the raging fire. Besides, the hut made up of mud palm leaves was completely destroyed.
Talorna sarpanch informed about the incident to Dhargalim MLA Babu Azgaonkar, Pernem police and Pernem fire brigade.
According to fire services, after getting a call at about 11.30 am, they rushed to the site, but much damage was already caused before the fire was extinguished.
