PANJIM: The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing and Osmania University police have arrested a Goan drug dealer in Hyderabad called Priteesh Narayan Borkar alias Babu alias Khali of Anjuna. Herald has accessed the investigating report plus the note the Narco wing has put out on Borkar and all the contacts in his drug supply chain, where several interesting names have been revealed.
Shockingly Borkar was arrested by the ANC was back in 2014. The fact that he still continues to operate eight later, is a measure of how slack the system has been.
After the arrest, Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) brought in the Osmania University Police, into the investigation a fortnight ago.
The note stated “To earn easy money, Borkar developed contact with one Manzoor Ahmed of Goa and together they started procuring the drugs ie Ecstasy Pills, LSD Blots, MDMA and charas in a bulk quantity from Thukaram Salgaonkar alias Nana, Vikas Naik alias Vicky, Ramesh Chavan, Steve, Edwin Nunes and Sanja Govekar for a lesser price and the same were sold to the needy persons for a higher price.
For the last eight years, these persons have been allegedly selling drugs at the Anjuna beach and in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
In the police note on the case and investigation, Borkar is identified as an inter-state drug peddler and was arrested on the charge of illegally possessing narcotic drugs such 20 Ecstasy pills, five LSD Blots, four grams of MDMA, one mobile phone, and cash.
Borkar alias Khali was also caught red-handed by the Anti-Narcotics police, Panjim in 2014, and a case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against him.
The police note stated “Acting on credible information that drug peddler Borkar alias Babu alias Khali was trying to sell drugs at Habsiguda to drug consumers, the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) along with Osmania University police apprehended him at Habsigud and seized narcotics from his possession. Upon inquiry, he revealed that about 600 consumers are purchasing the above-said drugs from him for their consumption, out of which 166 consumers were identified and still some more consumers are yet to be identified”.
