Hyderabad native held for rape

Pernem Police on Tuesday arrested a 35-year-old native of Lonavala-Hyderabad on charges of raping a 20-year-old woman belonging to Scheduled Caste at Varkhand-Pernem.
In her complaint, the victim’s mother told Pernem Police that her daughter was allegedly raped by one Raju Nagoji, who is residing at Tambulwada-Varkhand, eight months ago.
Police further informed that the matter came to light when the victim’s medical report confirmed that the girl was pregnant.
Acting on the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Pernem Police arrested Raju under Section 376 IPC.
Police is investigating the case under the supervision of Pernem Police Inspector Uttam Raut Desai.
