I believe in politics of love and not hate, says Adv Pratima Coutinho

Promises 24x7 health services; Employment for youth; Pension for retired sea farers; Football ground

NAVELIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Navelim constituency Adv. Pratima Coutinho who has been in the spotlight for last few days, believes in the politics of love and not hatred. According to her people of Navelim want change and hence are looking towards AAP as an option in Navelim, besides whole of Goa. 

Speaking to Herald at the time of campaigning in Navelim, Pratima said that round-the-clock health services, besides employment to the educated youth without paying any bribe will be her top priorities.  

“Many of the youngsters are well qualified but are unemployed. They are sitting idle at home because their families don’t have money to pay bribe. My priority will be to provide them jobs on basis of merit only,” said Coutinho. 

She further said that the long pending demand for separate police station will see the light of the day.

“I have plans for improving the health care services. A 24×7 hospital with all the facilities will be another priority for Navelim constituency, wherein doctors and nurses will be available for the services of the people,” she informed. 

She further said that people of Navelim are rich with salt pans, but poor when it comes to cleaning. 

“We will see to it that at least once a year all the salt pans and the wells are cleaned. On the other hand, Navelim has given the best of the footballers. However, the conditions of the football grounds are very pathetic. I will see to it that all the grounds are upgraded,” she added. 

Not forgetting the seafarers, Adv Coutinho said AAP will see to it that the retired seafarers will get pension. She also wants to have a special scheme for the disabled persons. 

“Garbage issue is one of the main problems of Navelim. We promise to have proper garbage management in the constituency,” she informed. 

Briefing about her campagning she said that almost finished covering all the areas which include panchayats such as Navelim, Telaulim, Davorlim, Aquém-Baixo, and Rumandamoll. Door to door campaigning is almost complete.

“Honestly speaking, I feel blessed as the moment I go to any house they welcome me with warmth. They make a point to call me inside their house and hence feel I am one amongst them. I am not just visiting them but doing the interaction in order to hear their grievances. I sit for a dialogue with them, besides handing over pamphlets of the manifesto,” she said. 

The AAP candidate claimed that people of Navelim are upset with the political leaders, as nobody was there to help them at the time of Covid pandemic. Navelim people have told me that they want a leader who will raise their issues in the Assembly and will stand for them,” she added.
