PANJIM: Income Tax Department on Wednesday evening raided two offices of a major construction and hospitality company in Panjim.
A senior officer of the Income Tax Department said that the raid is being conducted to crosscheck tax evasion by the company.
An officer further stated that the raid and inspection of the data is being carried out of all the businesses owned by the companies. He said that the entire construction, hospitality and night life data will be crosschecked.
The team of the Goa region income tax office arrived in Panjim and started verifying documents in both the offices based in the State’s capital simultaneously. The raid that started at around 6pm went on till late in the night.
None of the I-T officers were available for an official comment.
