I won’t bow down to any pressure: Parsekar on rejoining BJP

PERNEM: Former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Thursday said that there is no point in holding any talks with him to rejoin party reacting to the statement of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant where he claimed party leaders are in talks with former and are sure that they will convince him to reverse his decision.

Parsekar while addressing the media at Mandem said, “There is no point in continuing with the talks. I am not going to bow down to any pressure. The person who said that talks are ongoing and they will pressurise me to reverse the decision should come face to face and say the same thing with an eye contact.”

Parsekar had tendered his resignation after the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) declared Mandrem ticket to Dayanand Sopte. Parsekar to contest as an Independent.

“For the last 32 years, I served a party and its thoughts. Unexpectedly, the party and some party leaders did injustice to me,” he added.

He further said, “Some people even said that I leaving the party will not affect the party since the party is big. They should think how the party has become so big, who did and how. The party has disappointed and broke me.”
