vasco: Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Prakash Javadekar arrived in Goa on Friday for the inaugural ceremony of the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Saturday.
“#IFFI51 will be a hybrid festival and will comprise both online and in-person modes of participation. Asia’s oldest and India’s biggest film festival begins tomorrow,” Javadekar tweeted on Friday.
After reaching the International Airport of Dabolim, Javadekar expressed high levels of optimism and said this year too, he expects it will be a good film festival. He added that people, who can manage to get seats, will come to attend the IFFI and that they will be wearing masks, maintaining social distancing etc.
He spoke about how the IFFI will be broadcasted online.
“Rest of the people of Goa and outside Goa will also be able to get entertained by seeing IFFI programmes and the inaugural event, which will be broadcasted online,” he added.
