PANJIM: The Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI hosted a three day national conference for Chartered Accountants at Majorda Beach Resort, recently.
The conference witnessed participation of CAs from across the state, Maharashtra and Gujarat. The conference was organized under the aegis of the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Narayan (Nanabab) Bandekar, president of the GCCI was the Chief Guest for the event and in his address to the delegates expressed how the role of CAs had grown multifold from being book keeping and accounting services to total business solution providers encompassing advisory, compliance, business planning services. He also described how ICAI has forged ahead to become a leader in the sphere worldwide.
CPE is intended to keep CAs abreast of dynamics in the professional sphere and to acquire and hone skill sets for delivery of expert professional services. The conference is structured on the same ideals and endeavors’ to enrich CAs with updated knowledge. The Goa Branch Committee consisting of CA Naveen G Daivajna (chairman), CA Kiran Kharangate (vice chairman), CA Yeshwant Kamat (Secretary), CA Vinesh Pikale (treasurer), CA Anup Borkar (Imm past chairman) and CA Kedar Kenkre (Managing Committee member) are the energy behind this event. In his comments to the media CA Naveen G Daivajna stated that the Goa branch will focus on conducting more programs on this scale and that CAs from across the country are expected to avail benefit of the same.
