PANJIM: Most mobile network services in the State were affected due to Cyclone Tauktae on Sunday with Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant urging mobile phone users to switch over to any network available in the area through manual settings of the device.
On the other hand, Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat urged the govt to fully commission the optic fibre cable intranet facility for the convenience of the users.
Dr Sawant said, “People in Goa have been facing mobile network issues due to disruption caused by Tauktae cyclone. Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) facility has now been activated across Goa. You can switch over to any network which is available in your area through the manual settings of your device.”
Reacting to this, Kamat stated that he once again wants to remind the CM to fully commission the optic fibre cable Intranet facility, which has reached every panchayat in Goa. The facility gifted to Goa by then PM Dr Manmohan Singh can provide uninterrupted and consistent network connectivity, he added.
