PANJIM: As speculation is rife over the possible induction of BJP Calangute MLA Michael Lobo into the State Cabinet, the MLA said he is ready to take up the bigger role if Chief Minister wants it.
The social media as well as the political circle is abuzz with Lobo’s likely induction in Dr Pramod Sawant-led cabinet. It is learnt that Sawant would be dropping a Minister from his existing cabinet to accommodate Lobo, who was denied the ministeriship despite playing a pivotal role in the BJP-led coalition government formation in 2017.
When asked, Lobo said that it is CM’s prerogative to decide whom he wants in his cabinet and who should be given what position. “If CM thinks that he should give me a bigger role then I am ready for it. If CM wants me in his cabinet then I am ready for it,” he stated. “I am confident that if CM finds me as workaholic and a helping hand to him, then, there is possibility that CM may give me an opportunity to serve in his cabinet,” he added.
Lobo said, “CM is holding regular meetings with his secretaries, officials, ministers and even MLAs to keep track of things happening across State.”
He is also ensuring that developmental works are on fast track.”
