PANJIM: The longest serving legislator Pratapsingh Rane on Tuesday said that his decision to contest the upcoming Assembly elections will solely depend on his electorate and the Congress party.
“If I don’t contest, somebody else will contest election. If I stand I must win,” he said when asked he has decided to contest the Assembly polls for the 12th term.
Asked about his daughter-in-law contesting from Poriem constituency, Rane said it’s a free country and anyone is free to contest. But he said he is not aware if she has shown a desire to contest.
Asked about the prospects of Congress in the 2022 Assembly elections, Rane said almost all infrastructures such as roads, irrigation, planning, green areas, Industrial estates, government colleges etc were developed by the Congress.
