panjim: Against the backdrop of rising COVID-19 cases, the State Government on Wednesday announced that the 51st Edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2020 will be held as per schedule in the last week of November.
Speaking to media persons, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said IFFI will be organized as per schedule.
The IFFI is annually held between November 20 and 28. The State hosts over 10,000 delegates, both domestic and international, for the event.
Sawant had informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that the State govt is awaiting communication from the Centre with regards to conduct of IFFI considering the COVID pandemic.
The budget estimate prepared by the Government for organizing IFFI is around Rs 16 crore.
Recently, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javdekar unveiled the poster and booklet for the festival.
