MAPUSA: In a surprise raid conducted by Bardez Mamlatdar, Pravin Gawas and team at Siolim seized two trucks loaded with illegally extracted sand.
According to information obtained, the raid was conducted at midnight of Tuesday at four different locations. When the team reached the first spot two trucks were found out of which one was loaded with sand while the other one was waiting to load.
When the team reached the second spot, another truck was found, which was also loaded with sand. However, the labourers had fled from the spot.
“The seized sand has been disposed of in the river while the seized trucks have been handed over to the police. The concerned department will carry out the required formalities,” Bardez Mamlatdar, Pravin Gawas said.
