On July 30, the NGPDAhad directed the removal of all structures by an hotelier within the 30-metre buffer zone of the Calangute crematorium. It had given the hotelier 7 days to remove the cottages. Calangute MLA Michael Lobo inspected the site and said, “All the structures have been removed and only the remains are being shifted.” “The NGPDA had sent them a demolition notice and they informed me that they have removed the huts. Wooden material and other fixtures which have been removed are still lying around and we have asked them to clear the entire area within 7 days, which they have agreed to do ,” Lobo said.
