IMA urges govt to start home quarantine

PANJIM: In the wake of increasing COVID-19 cases with majority asymptomatic, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Goa State has urged the government to start home quarantine for the asymptomatic patients.

“We take this opportunity to request to start home quarantine for asymptomatic COVID positive patient (s). This will decrease the burden on our healthcare infrastructure and we could provide better care to the most needy. If this proposal of home quarantine is accepted then IMA would be more than happy to formulate a protocol for treatment of such patients at home,” Dr Sudhir Shet, IMA Goa Secretary said in a letter to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.

The letter also informs that Planet Hollywood and Ocean Residency will be open to public on payment with prior permission from IMA Secretary and President.

“Also we would like to add that doctors will be available on a video call. A kit with all necessary medicines and a Pulse Oximeter will be kept at hotel with payment,” he said.
