PANJIM: Unseasonal rain accompanied with thunderstorm and gusty winds continued several parts of the State on Thursday even as the India Meteorological Observatory (IMD), Altinho extended yellow alert until Saturday, May 25.
Earlier in the day, light to moderate rainfall l and thunder shower with thunderstorm lightning and gusty winds 30-40 kmph was predicted in the talukas of the State in next 1-3 hours, stated a now cast issued by the IMD at 6.30 pm.
At many places incidents of tree falling and power failure was reported.
A lightning was also reported at Duler-Mapusa, where it struck a house and partly damanged the house and electrical appliances, however no occupant was injured.
The IMD has also forecast light to moderate rains with thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places across the State during the next three to four days.
