PANJIM: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said the monsoon’s arrival in Goa might be delayed by a few days due to cyclonic disturbances.
Speaking to Herald, IMD Goa, Director, M L Sahu said, “Due to Mora cyclone a lot of energy has been used so that may delay the monsoon arrival by a few days. We had earlier said that approximately it would arrive by June 6 but now it is likely to get delayed by a few days.”
However, Goa is likely to receive light to moderate rain/thundershowers in some parts in the next four days with Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday recording temperatures of 31.8 degrees Celsius.
The IMD bulletin states, “Rainfall occurred at a few places over Goa. There was no large change in maximum temperature. They were below normal over South Goa and were normal over North Goa. The highest maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius was recorded at Panjim.”
The forecast for Panjim in the next 24 hours is cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 32 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
