PANJIM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a yellow alert of very heavy rainfall at isolated places on from August 26 to 28 in the state.
“Very heavy rainfall at isolated places with heavy rainfall at many places with winds of 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph is very likely over North and South Goa districts on August 26, 27 and 28, 2024,” the IMD said.
Meanwhile, Pernem received highest rainfall of 6.2 inches, followed by Valpoi 5.5 inches, Quepem 5.4 inches, Dabolim 5.2 inches, Mapusa 5.1 inches, Sanguem 4.9 inches, Sanquelim 4.8 inches, Mormugao 4.6 inches, Old Goa 4.5 inches, Panjim 4.3 inches, Margao 4.2 inches and Canacona 3.9 inches.
The average seasonal rainfall received by the state from June 1, 2024, to August 25, 2024, stood at 3728.6 mm.
