My residence is just opposite BSNL Curchorem, customer care/billing main office. I have opted for BSNL landline, mobile connection and broadband connection, expecting good services, and quick connectivity. But I regret to say BSNL services are pathetic to say the least.
The landline is unreliable, the cell connectivity congested and the Internet-broadband is very very slow, impossible for use.
I have complained ample times, but things have not improved a bit. It seems they have old equipment and outdated system which does not stand the demands of a growing and developing Goa. Charges to all their services are hiked regularly and bills dispatched promptly. But there is no substantial improvement in services. Recently BSNL has come up with FTTH (Fibre to the home) supposed to be quicker and faster internet services.
FTTH posters and hand bills pasted everywhere in this office, denoting high charges for such a service. When inquired, nobody knows when this service will be actually commissioned or put to use.
Months have passed and there is no telephone repairer visiting this customer care. This explains the number of non-working telephone sets piled in the office. The telephone sets supplied at the time of obtaining the landline are of sub standard quality, they stop functioning within a short time.
Customers are left high and dry, to fend for himself. BSNL needs to get its act together to upgrade/overhaul its entire equipment and operating system.
BSNL should employ experts to revive the connectivity , revamp/rejuvenate the lackadaisical attitude of the staff manning such offices, specially the oustation `babus’ who are not customer friendly.
BSNL should immediately strive hard to get rid of dead wood and unproductive ideas, which gets stuck, remain stagnant and spell doom.
