PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday announced that the 66 students from Goa, who were allotted examination centres outside the State for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), scheduled on August 29, will now be answering the exams at Don Bosco Engineering College, Fatorda.
Sawant also appreciated the efforts of Architect Chandan Parab and Board of National Council for Architecture. “I wish to inform that the 66 Goan students, who were supposed to answer their NATA exams outside the State, will now be answering the exams at Don Bosco Engineering College, Margao,” Sawant tweeted.
The students were earlier allotted centres based in places outside Goa like Bengaluru, Belgavi, Kolhapur, Hubli, Pune, Mumbai, amongst others.
On Wednesday, the Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat had sought the intervention of the President of the Council of Architecture (CoA) Habeeb Khan in the matter, who had assured to change the examination centre for Goans, in view of present COVID situation.
The CoA had invited application forms from students across the country desiring to appear for NATA in the month of February 2020. However, after the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, the examinations were postponed. Eventually, the COA has decided to hold the online exams and requested the students to opt for the centres of their choice.
“I took up the matter with the CoA President, who informed me late evening that they will take necessary steps to accommodate all the students within the State of Goa,” Kamat had said.
