In alliance, MGP will demand 15 seats, if alone will contest in 30 constituencies

Lavoo is confident that MGP will be part of the government that will be formed in the next term; says will support like-minded parties or individuals in Salcete

OLD GOA: Alliance with BJP or not, Ponda MLA and MGP general secretary Lavoo  Mamledar expressed confidence that the MGP will be part of the government that will be formed in the next term.
Speaking to Herald on the sidelines of a notebooks distribution function organized by the party in association with the Madhavrao Dhavlikar Trust at Carambolim panchayat hall on Sunday evening, Mamledar said that MGP will demand 15 seats if the alliance with  the BJP continues for the next assembly election. “Of these 15 seats, the MGP will secure at least 10 seats,” he further added. However, when questioned what MGP’s step would be if a situation arises wherein the  party has to go to the polls without an alliance with the BJP, Mamledar said that the party will contest 30 seats on its own and in the rest 10 constituencies, particularly Salcete, it will extend support to like-minded parties or individuals.
“In Salcete where the party’s presence is minimal, we will extend support,” he informed while stating that the party will get the required numbers to form the government. Mamledar urged the people from Carambolim to extend support to the MGP so that the Cumbarjua seat which was held by the MGP for a very long time could be regained. “This will go a long way in ensuring that the MGP forms the government in the next Assembly election,” he said. Further, Mamledar said that the party’s main focus is providing education to all and said that the notebooks distribution is one such initiative in this direction.
“We have provided support to many students in becoming nurses and teachers,” he said and informed that the party also focuses in providing support to the needy on the health front and solving unemployment as well. “If anybody requires support in other sectors also, they are welcome to approach the party,” he stated.
More than 200 students from Carambolim and Corlim villages were given notebooks at the function. MGP’s Cumbarjua block president Narayan Verlekar, Carambolim panchas Bhalchandra Usgaonkar and Kushta Palekar and Bandora panch Santosh Fadte also spoke on
the occasion.
