PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday said the government has given in-principle approval for the Defence Expo at Betul.
“We have sent a proposal to the Defence Ministry and have also given in-principle approval for Defence Expo at Betul. No decision has yet been taken on the permanent venue,” Parrikar said.
Parrikar had earlier said that creation of a permanent venue for Defexpo and Aero India was under consideration with the State exploring the possibility of a joint venture with the Defence Ministry.
He had also said that if the Defence Ministry wanted to hold Defexpo 2018 in Goa, the State was ready to consider the proposal.
Commenting on the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), he termed it as a non-friendly organisation and said the government is committed to make it into a friendly one.
‘’What is important is to create an atmosphere by which industry is not harassed, but the organisation which was formed for this purpose has become a non industrial friendly organisation,” Parrikar said.
, adding they would make it friendly.
“It is not an easy task. Even in government sector, bad habits do not go that easily. Easy money is resulting in the destruction of industrial network in Goa which we trying to restore,” Parrikar said.
