MARGAO: The District Collectorate has scheduled an inspection of the creek at Dando Mollo in Velsao following complaints of alleged Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) violations by RVNL in that area.
The inspection will be held on Wednesday morning at 10.30 am.
It may be recalled that the Water Resources Department (WRD) and Goa Coastal Zone Management Area (GCZMA) had already carried out inspections of the site.
On Tuesday, the office of the Mormugao Mamlatdar sent letters to the Vasco Inspector of Survey and Land Records, Vasco Town Planner, Range Forest Officer (RFO) Margao, PWD Assistant Engineer Vasco, GCZMA Member Secretary, Mormugao Planning and Development Authority (MPDA) Member Secretary and one member of the taluka level committee and asked them to remain present for the inspection.
The complaint had been filed by Goencho Ekvott (GE) founder Orville Dourado Rogdrigues along with Olencio Simoes.
The Mamlatdar Ranjeet Salgaonkar added that the process that will be followed is as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that was formulated by the District Level Committee.
As per the CRZ SOP, the inspection report should be compulsorily supported by Directorate of Settlement & Land Records (DSLR) map with superimposition of structures with dimensions and with High Tide Line (HTL) on the DSLR survey plan,” said the Mamaltadar.
