SANGUEM: An internal road at Netravali village in Sanguem was damaged after the heavy rains which lashed the taluka on Thursday, October 21.

Due to very heavy rains, culverts began to overflow in the village and at Margawada, the gushing rain water almost damaged and washed off the road rendering it unmotorable and dangerous for traffic.

“The road is totally damaged and needs urgent repairs,” informed panch member Rakhi Naik and added that even the underground electricity cables  were dangerously exposed.

The villagers at Netravali also suffered damages to their paddy fields which ripe and ready to be harvested.

The village Talathi alongwith Rakhi Naik inspected the damages caused to the plantation. Naik informed that the report of the damages caused to the agricultural plantation would be submitted to the agriculture department and Mamlatdar so that farmers could avail compensation for crop loss.
