PERNEM: The foundation for the Keri-Tiracol bridge was laid by the then Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar however the project stalled as it failed to get the environmental clearance. The matter was with the Green Tribunal which brought a stay on the construction of the bridge.
The stay was lifted two years ago giving way for the completion of the bridge but the work is now halted once again due to lack of funds. The on and off nature of the work has led to corrosion of the iron rods. Currently there is ferry service on Tiracol river to go to Tiracol area which comes under the jurisdiction of Keri panchayat.
