Increase in compoundable cases at S Goa police stations

MARGAO: South Goa police stations have implemented a proactive approach to prevent crime, resulting in a total of 41,732 cases being booked under compoundable offences during the first five months of this year, as of May 31.

Comparing the data to the same period last year, where 27,204 cases were recorded, it is evident that there has been a notable increase of 53.40% in the booking of compoundable cases this year.  In a press release from the South Goa district police, it was revealed that as part of their preventive action, they have submitted 600 chapter cases during the current year, compared to 408 chapter cases in the corresponding period of the previous year.

This indicates a significant increase of 47.69% in preventive action. The police claim that these actions serve as a deterrent to troublemakers, individuals with questionable character, and potential criminals, ensuring that they are kept under constant monitoring of their daily activities.
