MARGAO: As the day for electing the new sarpanch and deputy sarpanch approaches near, five out of nine newly elected independent panchas of Rumdamol-Davorlim Village Panchayat have formed a panel and are all set to take over the charge of the panchayat.
Addressing the media, panch and former sarpanch Samiullah Faniband, along with four others informed that they were united and would work hard for the betterment of the village.
The other four panchas of the panel include Mubeena Faniband, Zubeda Agasar, Mustafa Dodamani and Umran Pathan.
Saimulla informed that for the first two and half years Mubeena will take the charge as a sarpanch followed by Zubeda for the remaining years. Similarly, Mustafa will the deputy sarpanch for the first two and half years and thereafter would be succeeded by Umran.
“The opposition is trying to divide us by spreading rumours, but we are united and will remain united for the next five years. We are firm and will not bow down to any pressure,” Saimulla said.
He further said that this front has been formed to work towards the betterment of the village and would resolve all the issues faced by the villagers.
