Amid escalating tensions in the region, the Indian government has established a 24-hour emergency helpline for its citizens residing in Palestine. The Indian embassy in Palestine announced this measure to offer support and assistance to Indian nationals in light of the ongoing security situation.
The current conflict has been sparked by Israel’s response to a series of rocket attacks launched by the Hamas group in Gaza, which took place on the Jewish Sabbath and during a holiday. In retaliation, Israel has launched a comprehensive military offensive against Hamas targets in Gaza, resulting in extensive damage to various areas, with buildings reduced to rubble.
This ongoing conflict has tragically resulted in a significant loss of life, with casualties reported on both sides, totaling nearly 3,600 deaths, and thousands more have been wounded.
