Indian Airport Tops Global Punctuality Rankings, Reflecting Aviation Sector’s Efficiency

In a notable achievement for India’s aviation industry, an Indian airport has clinched the top position in global punctuality rankings, underscoring the country’s commitment to efficiency and reliability in air travel. This milestone reflects the substantial progress made by India’s aviation sector in meeting international standards, particularly in the crucial aspect of on-time performance.

According to a survey conducted by aviation analytics firm Cirium, Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has demonstrated exceptional on-time departure records. Bengaluru Airport, which is part of KIA, achieved outstanding punctuality rates, boasting 87.51% in July, 89.66% in August, and 88.51% in September. KIA’s extensive network includes 88 routes and partnerships with 35 airlines, making it the third busiest airport in India, having served nearly 31.91 million passengers in the 2022-2023 period. Such impressive numbers highlight the airport’s commitment to punctuality and efficiency.

Other airports that made it to the top five in the punctuality rankings include Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah (USA), Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and El Dorado International Airport. This recognition not only showcases India’s dedication to air travel excellence but also positions KIA as a global leader in punctuality and reliability.
