The Indian Army troops successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Macchil area of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir. This operation, conducted in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and intelligence agencies, resulted in the elimination of two terrorists.
The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Indian Army officially confirmed this through a statement released on October 26, 2023. According to the statement on X (formally Twitter), “In a Joint Operation launched by the #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice & Intelligence agencies on 26 Oct 23, an infiltration bid has been foiled by alert troops along the #LoC in #Kupwara sector.”
DGP Dilbagh Singh of J&K stated, “The operation is underway. It is a joint operation by the Army and Police. Infiltration bid keeps happening from Pakistan’s side and it is being foiled by the Army, police, and other agencies. There are 16 launching pads located opposite this division in PoK. The number of terrorists (active in Jammu and Kashmir) are very low. People believe in peace and development and are cooperating with the administration.”
