IndiGo Secures Historic Milestone as Inaugural Airline for Noida International Airport Launch in 2024

IndiGo is poised to make aviation history by being the inaugural airline to launch flights from the upcoming Noida International Airport, anticipated to commence operations by the close of 2024. In a significant development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been formalized between Noida International Airport (NIA) and IndiGo, designating the carrier as the pioneering airline to operate from the new airport. The greenfield airport, situated in the Jewar area of Gautam Buddh Nagar district in western Uttar Pradesh, approximately 75 km from Delhi, is slated to become the second international and the third overall commercial airport in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The agreement, inked in Delhi, outlines collaborative efforts between NIA and IndiGo to enhance and fortify air connectivity not only in Uttar Pradesh but also extending beyond the state’s borders. Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the potential to innovate and ensure an exceptional customer experience. IndiGo’s CEO, Pieter Elbers, echoed the sentiment, expressing thrill at the prospect of being the launch carrier for NIA. Elbers emphasized IndiGo’s commitment to advancing connectivity and delivering a seamless travel experience, leveraging the extensive route network and expertise of the leading airline.
