Infant kidnapping case: Margao police leave for Mumbai

MARGAO: The Margao Police team headed by PSI Viraj Pawar has left for Mumbai in search of the eight-month-old infant who was kidnapped by an unknown person from Margao.

According to sources, the police team led by PSI Pawar which has been formed to investigate the said case has left for Mumbai.

The Margao police are yet to nab the accused to rescue the abducted baby.

Reportedly, the infant was kidnapped from the lawful guardianship of his parents while they were fast asleep along the footpath outside the masjid at Malbhat.

The mother in her complaint had stated that her baby was abducted from the lawful guardianship of his parents on the intervening night of November 14 and 15 outside the Masjid at Malbhat by some unknown person. Margao Police registered the offence under Section 363 of the IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act.

Police detained some persons  and also recorded the mother’s statement.
