Vasco: A body of an infant was found dumped in a waste bin on Friday afternoon, in Vasco.
Police and locals from Vasco were in a shock over the incident. The body was sent for preservation at GMC, said DySP Raju Raut Dessai.
Dessai said, some persons from Gandhinagar, Vasco had come to dump their waste in the bin in the afternoon when they noticed a body of an infant boy. The people then reported this to the Vasco police. Police rushed to the spot and performed the panchanama. The body was than sent for preservation at GMC. Further investigation is in progress said DySP Raut.
Commenting on this shocking incident, Savio Correia, Green activist and a lawyer from Vasco said, “I can only sympathise with the mother of that infant in this case. This is very sensitive and touchy issue. I feel there might be chances that someone from another town might have come and dumped the infant in the dust bin”.
Dayanand Rane, former Headmaster Yuvak Sangh School said this was an inhuman act. “Police will do its investigation and I hope that the person behind this gets caught”.
