PONDA: Accusing the police and panchayat officials of failing to initiate action against the person for trespassing into her father’s property despite complaints for the past two years, Tara Santosh Gaonkar, a resident of Mallari Moll in Codli on Sunday appealed to the government to take cognisance of their plight and deliver justice to her family.
Addressing media persons, Tara claimed that she has been waging a lone battle against the person for trespassing into their property and threatening her parents who are suffering from speech impairment and hearing loss.
Addressing media persons, Tara said she is facing harassment for the last two years and being the lone daughter, she has to file and look after complaints.
She presented before media persons the property documents recorded in her father’s name and added that she wants to get rid of harassment from the intruder.
Tara alleged that instead of delivering justice, the government bodies are trying to suppress her voice. She showed all the complaint copies including the one which was submitted to Directorate of Panchayats.
Tara claimed to have filed several complaints to police, Kirlapal-Dabal Panchayat, deputy collector and mamlatdar but these authorities failed to provide justice to her and as a result the intruder continued harassing her family.
Following complaints, she claimed that police and panchayat officials visited their residence as mere formality but did not initiate any action against the trespasser.
She informed that the panchayat officials advised her to settle the issue or approach the court. The local body claimed that it has nothing to do in this matter.
Due to continuous harassment, Tara said her physically impaired parents fell sick and since then she has to look after them leaving aside her job.
Tara claimed that it’s been two years she has been fighting a lone battle on account of the road constructed illegally in the property registered in her father Santosh Bhanu Gaonkar’s name.
Tara said she fails to understand on what basis the panchayat constructed the road in her property which is used by trespasser, who resides on the encroached forest land. The intruder uses the above mentioned road and often displays highhandedness.
When asked for information under RTI Act, the panchayat failed to produce any documents, she claimed and alleged that when she proceeds to her workplace, the intruder comes and threatens her parents.
Claiming that panchayat and police are trying to suppress her voice, she has appealed to the government to provide justice immediately.
