Inner party tension over Kala Academy contract surfaces in BJP meeting

Gawde, according to insiders, played the victim card and said he was being targeted

PANJIM: The ongoing verbal faceoff between Ministers Govind Gaude and Nilesh Cabral over the renovation of Kala Academy is learned to have surfaced during the meeting with BJP in-charge C T Ravi

Gawde also expressed his displeasure at being targeted by one party spokesman, who has created an internal stir highlighting the purported irregularities pointed out by the Vigilance directorate, over the manner in which the 49.5 crore tender for the Kala Academy renovation was awarded

Gawde, according to insiders, played the victim card and said he was being targeted while the spokesperson maintained that he adopted the zero tolerance to corruption line  of the Prime Minister

However, Ravi told media persons that he was unaware of the ongoing tussle between Gawde and anyone else.

On the other hand, BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that both Gaude and Ravi met the spokesperson, and whatever he needed to be told, has been told to him

Meanwhile, the BJP national general secretary in charge of Goa, C T Ravi on Friday denied that there was disenchantment among the party MLAs over the admission of former Congress MLAs and claimed that everybody was content vis-à-vis party as well as the government.

When asked whether a cabinet reshuffle was on cards, Ravi said that he was in Goa for party organisation works.
