mapusa: Following complaints from locals, an inspection was conducted by the forest department recently in a private forest land based in Bairo Alto Assagao.
The inspection was conducted by range forest officer Atmaram Desai and his team in the presence of complainant Orlando Braganza and locals who felt that rich biodiversity of the area was at stake.
They also raised concerns about the trees and bushy vegetation that had been cut and recalled how the area had been demarcated as a private forest.
