MARGAO: The road safety meeting for South Goa on Monday decided to have signages installed from Varunapuri to Verna junction and from Verna to Cortalim road through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding.
The road is planned to be made a model stretch for signages.
Additional Collector Prasanna Acharya chaired the meeting along with representatives of PWD, RTO, Traffic Cell and GoaCAN. On a pilot basis, the committee has decided to seek Corporate Social Responsibility from Dilip Buildcon to install signages following complaints regarding absence and dilapidated signages along the major roads across South Goa.
On abandoned vehicles across major roads in panchayats and municipal areas, a monthly report has been sought from the Directorate of Municipal Administration and Director of Panchayats on the removal of abandoned vehicles on roadsides, which obstruct traffic.
