Inter-city ferry service in the offing

PANJIM: The traffic problems that afflict Panjim and other towns could be a thing of the past with the expression of interest being floated for the ferry service between Vasco, Dona Paula and Panjim. This was revealed by the Chairman of MPT Cyril George during a press conference on Monday.

In addition the once popular Goa–Mumbai boat service could commence yet again in the months to come with two parties expressing their interest to restart the service. MPT and JNPT have offered to provide their facilities at the respective ports to ensure that the service commences. The interested parties will now have to present their plans to the concerned departments. 
Asked when the service would commence, the MPT chairman hoped it would commence at the earliest. With regards to the inter-city boat service, he said it would be a boon that would reduce the ever increasing traffic problem.
 as well as help the economy of the State by reducing the travel time.
