PANJIM: The first phase of the exercise to brand Goa is likely to start shortly with Goa tourism proposing to launch an interactive website on the eve of Carnival 2014.
Chlorophyll Brand and Communication Consultancy Pvt Ltd, which was chosen in August 2013 for developing Goa as a brand, would be making a presentation to the tourism ministry next week on proposed strategies for organized and systematic marketing of Goa tourism globally.
“The company has already submitted various ideas and proposals which are being crystallized,” said a source in the tourism department.
During the last six months, the agency has been engaged in research and analysis of tourism statistics such as foreign and domestic arrivals, feedback from tourists who have visited Goa, and collection of scientific data in a bid to assess the requirements of the State towards effective branding and promotion. The agency has put forward several options which includes media plans, advertising strategies, market promotions linking the same to events, festivals and so on.
