VASCO: Due to the disruption in both main (BSNL) and alternate source links, the passenger processing systems at Dabolim international airport remained non-functional at regular intervals on Tuesday. This led to the minor delay in the departure of several flights from Goa airport.
According to airport sources, a number of airlines experienced intermittent issues with their check-in systems due to the disruption links on Tuesday. Airport was thrown into chaos as this technical issue caused flight delays, but no flights were cancelled.
Dabolim Airport Director BCH Negi confirmed that though there had been minor delays in departure of some flights from Goa airport in the afternoon, but the flights were continuing to depart from Dabolim Airport and no flight was cancelled due to the problems encountered on Tuesday.
“Already there was some problem with the BSNL link and unfortunately our alternate line was intermittent since morning. Since the links were intermittent, the passenger processing systems that are used for passenger check-in and for boarding etc was non-functional at frequent intervals. We are hopeful that proper links will be restored shortly,” Negi said.
