Urges Chief Minister to follow guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource and immediately issue orders advising all the teachers to work from home during this COVID pandemic

MARGAO: The intranet facility gifted to Goa as a Pilot Project by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh during my tenure as chief minister is the way forward for online and distance education in State,” Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat informed on Friday.

Kamat urged the Chief Minister to follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and immediately issue orders advising all the teachers to work from home during this COVID pandemic.

“It is high time that the government gears up to streamline the online education facility in State. I demand that the government must announce a scheme to provide gadgets to the students as well as teachers for facilitating online education,” Kamat said.

“The government must immediately come out with an action plan on syllabus. Why the government has still not announced the proposals made by the Board of Study on curtailing syllabus for this academic year,” questioned Kamat.

“The government must immediately take steps to make optimum use of the intranet facility installed in Goa which has already reached almost every taluka across the State,” mentioned Kamat. He said that the intranet facility will help the teachers as well as the students in online education, as the facility can give uninterrupted transmission of good quality video.
