Investors optimistic of getting their apartments

CANACONA: Several stakeholders stated that the release of the attached properties of Bharat Developers & Realtors Pvt Ltd is a good sign. Several stakeholders are now banking on early commencement of works so that the properties for which they have paid will be in their possession.
Interestingly, the Special court has only ordered release of attached properties, but the builder has to pass another milestone until the works re-starts, as government has revoked almost all the licenses, NOCs and permits, including that of constructions. It has also revoked occupancy certificates, cut-off power supply and water connections it had issued to all the projects of the builders.
Other then Phase III of Ruby Residency, where one building totally collapsed, and row houses were razed, during rescue and search operations, work has also come to a standstill on two other buildings, and other row houses. Work has been halted at Bharat Heights (BH) at Nagarcem (where the apartments were also in final construction stages) and at Palolem Plaza (PP), Devabhaga-Palolem (where just the foundation has been laid).
So, it will be a long way before investors actually gets some relief, while government contemplates to reinstate the revoked permits and licences to their projects, even though many of the investors feel that the decks are very much clear, and its only a matter of time, before government realizes their pleas and reinstate the permits to allow the builder to complete their apartments.
Suraj Naik, a resident of Mapusa, who put up his hard-earned money by obtaining bank loan and mortgaging wife gold, says he is still in deep mental agony, and hopes Friday’s development, will give him an opportunity to get his apartment at Bharat Heights, for which he has paid more than 90 per cent finances.
