PANJIM: The Investment Promotion Board approved 11 projects, including five hotel projects, with a total investment of Rs 999.7 crore and potential 5700 jobs.
The projects include five hotel and resort projects with a total investment of Rs 956 crore alone. Ozone Leisure and Resort Pvt Ltd, the company that had proposed construction of a floating pontoon in River Mandovi, has proposed setting up of five-star hotel at an estimated cost of Rs 750 crore, with direct employment of 650 persons and other 1500 indirect employment opportunities.
The other firms are Niramaya Resort Benaulim Pvt Ltd with an investment of Rs 71.84 cr and employment generation of 125 people, Ronil Hotels and Resort investment of Rs 74 crore and 3000 jobs, Total Comfort Luxury health with investment of Rs 40.5 cr and 110 jobs and Ashwem Beach Resort with an investment of 19.68 cr and 80 jobs.
The IPB also approved industrial projects, which include development of new Agro and IT industrial park at Corlim, Tiswadi at cost of Rs 20 crore.
