IRB jawan tests COVID-19 positive; ‘kept’ sitting in Anjuna PS compound!

ANJUNA: With Goa witnessing a spurt in COVID cases, an India Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawan, who entered the State on election duty, tested positive for COVID-19 at Anjuna.

However, it is shocking to note that the jawan received his COVID report at 12 noon on Wednesday. However, till 6 pm, he was found sitting in the compound of the Anjuna Police Station as his concerned in-charge failed to make provision to isolate him or shift him to the hospital.

Anjuna PI informed that the police station has informed the concern in-charge, who was supposed to make a provision for him to isolate.  The PI said two barracks are given to the jawans for accommodation and at present there is no additional space for the COVID positive jawan to undergo isolation.

It is pertinent to note that the concerned in-charge was supposed to make a temporary provision (tent) in the Anjuna PS jurisdiction for accommodating the COVID positive jawan.
