Mapusa: Mary Gertrude McNamara, a 66-year-old Irish National was found dead inside a rented apartment at Candolim.
According to Calangute police, at the time of incident, the apartment was latched from inside. Police said a British friend of the deceased tried to contact her on her mobile and when she did not respond, he sent her husband to check but as the door was locked from inside, he asked the flat owner to open the door. On opening the door the deceased was found lying in a sleeping posture on the bed.
Immediately, local police were contacted and thereafter assistance of 108 ambulance service was sought and the deceased was taken to PHC Candolim where she was declared dead.
The body of the deceased was later shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim and the post-mortem was held today and the cause of death is reserved till the viscera report is received.
The body has been preserved at Goa Medical College and Hospital morgue.
Further investigations are in progress.
It may be recalled that on August 19, Anjuna Police had found the body of 34-year-old in the rented apartment at Bandirwado-Oxel, Siolim.
Anjuna police had later arrested a 47-year-old Russian national one Denis Kriuchkoy for allegedly murdering her.
